My child sits on the potty but doesn't pee. What should I do?

Choose another time and be patient

That’s something that usually comes naturally with practice. Check: When do you put your child on the potty? Write down what time your child usually pees or poops. Or what time your child eats and drinks. Maybe you always put your child on the potty right after they’ve peed in their diaper, which means nothing comes out. Practicing at a different time might help. Also make sure your child can relax properly, with their feet on the floor. Don’t be too impatient. It may take a few days or weeks before the first pee (or poop) lands in the potty. In the Ready for Potty , this is step 2. Don’t rush and keep it playful.
