Does your little one pee on the floor and then start laughing? To us as adults, it might seem like your child is doing it on purpose or even laughing at you. But most of the time, children don’t mean it that way at all. It might just feel strange or funny to your little one. Maybe your child finds it funny that pee suddenly comes out. If you’re not used to it, it can be quite a surprise. It’s also possible that your child is startled by the puddle. In that case, your child might be laughing out of nervousness. Keep it lighthearted and describe what you see. Try not to get angry. Say, for example: “Hey, was there suddenly a little puddle there? And is that why you’re smiling a little?” Or say: “Weird, isn’t it? Does it feel weird too? Come on, let’s clean it up. Shall we pay close attention if another little puddle happens?”
