Sedation is a process that takes place both at home and at daycare. Consistency between those two worlds is important for the child. Therefore, cooperation with parents is essential.
Start with an open conversation. Ask if the child is already showing signs of potty training, if they are already practicing at home, and how they are doing. Also share your methods in the group so parents know what to expect.
Be honest about what is feasible at daycare. One-on-one supervision is not always possible, but set potty training times and positive guidance are. Explain that you are working together step by step toward independence.
Stay in touch, even when things don't work out for a while. Giving regular brief updates - via a handover note, app or at the door - helps parents feel involved. And a well-informed parent is often a reassured parent.
