A washable diaper is reusable cloth diaper with inserts that you wash after use. The insert catches solid stool (poop) and you throw it away, the cloth diaper you wash. After use, the diaper goes into a laundry net and later into the washing machine.

Children with washable diapers typically become potty trained earlier. Washable diapers absorb moisture but remain wet to the touch. Thus, a child learns faster to recognize what happens when pee gets in the diaper and to connect that with what he or she feels in his or her body beforehand.
