Schedule

Take a look at your schedule for the week and pick a few times when you can practice in peace.

For example, this could be:

  • a morning or afternoon when you're at home
  • on the weekend
  • a moment when you're not in a hurry
  • on weekdays after dinner

An hour is enough

  • During this practice session, let your child play and walk around without a diaper. We ’ll tell you more about it in the guide “Practicing Without a Diaper.”
  • An hour is enough, a few times a week. So it doesn't take much time.
  • Don't overcomplicate things. Want to switch days for a change? Go ahead. Just make sure to do it on days when you have the time and energy to focus on it.
  • Stay nearby and watch for signs that your child needs to pee or poop. That way, you’ll have more opportunities to practice together.
  • You don't have to practice all day long. Short, quiet moments often work best.

Tips

  • Choose times when you're at home and don't have to go out.
  • Start with short practice sessions. Half an hour or an hour a day, a few times a week.
  • Don't overcomplicate things—just get started. It won't take long.
  • Practicing regularly will help your child recognize the feeling more quickly.
